What's Tomoko's favorite class in school so far?
Does Juudai know how to cook?
no subject
Yuya can focus when he needs too and he knows he shouldn't take that he got into the school for granted. I imagine with Bright's tutoring, he's been struggling a little less with maths, though he still finds it a difficult thing to get his head around certain aspects. Science (Alchemy) would be his other weak area but I'm sure with Bright's help, he'll improve on that too.
I imagine not knowing the mechanics behind Fusion, Xyz and Synchro might be an issue in dueling based classes, if any have had those mechanics come up, but of course, he's really interested and eager to learn more about them now he has the chance.
I'd say most of his classes he's more or less fine with. He does slack/goof off now and then, but doesn't let it effect his grades overall.
Yuma has been trying his best to stay focused, he really has been trying, but he is still struggling a lot with it. He's distracted WAY too easily and finds it hard to concentrate at times. At the moment he's managing to keep up with his classes and he's doing a little better than he was, but I have been thinking of not making is easy for him and exploring his frustration if he does start falling behind again. Though he does feel quite ashamed of failing his second year and really doesn't want to let down his friends and family again, so that is his driving force.
- Tomoko likes most of her classes, but dueling and art classes come out on top!!
- HE CAN! Basic stuff, but he can. Long gone are the days where he almost burned down Osiris Red by cooking an egg. I imagine Asuka has made sure to teach him and he helps her prepare their meals and very occasionally prepares meals for them by himself (as long as it's fairly simple/not too complicated), if Asuka is too busy.

Also, does Juudai contact his parents? How regularly?
You asked me, so the important one here is: Ruka's current thoughts on Shinji?
Also, has Ruka been adapting to living on her own? What's her usual daily schedule now that she doesn't have school to worry about.
no subject
He really trusts the two of them a lot now and feels he can rely on them if and when he needs to. I would say if he had a top 5 list of favourite Samasu's, they'd be in the top 5 somewhere.
- He does still keep in contact with them, but he tries to call or visit them at least once a month. With them being busy and himself being busy, it can be difficult, but both sides have agreed to not lose contact again. His parents also adore Asuka, so they like to see the both of them occasionally.
- Ruka admires and trusts Shinji a lot. And yes, she does actually have some romantic feelings towards him, but just like with Shinji, she feels acting on that wouldn't be the best right now due to her own uncertain situation. She really wants to be able to spend more time with him though, even if it's just as a friend right now.
- She has been adapting to living on her own quite well. For the first few weeks it was pretty scary and daunting, but the longer it's been, the more she's gotten used to it.
Her schedule is rather basic. She gets up early, gets breakfast in Sakana's kitchen, starts work at the Spirit Foundation (where she would either do research stuff or in-the-field-stuff either on her own or with Juudai, but at the moment, due to Shinoko's absence, she's been helping Juudai more with paperwork and also helping him with the Arcadia movement merge), then after work she goes back to her apartment and either makes some dinner in Sakana's kitchen, or goes out to get something, then relaxes in the evening before going to bed. So yeah, fairly basic.
Juudai usually tries to make sure she has a couple of days off in a week, though with the merge and Shinoko's absence, it's been pretty hectic lately. But on her days off she either catches up on any housework or goes to the library, things like that.
no subject
Shinji and Ruka are unresolved feelings central. How does Ruka feel about the whole level 12 card he has around though? Juudai?
Does Yubel ever get bored? How does she feel about Juudai's ideas to focus on the Arcadia Movement merge over everything else?
no subject
- Ruka, although a little worried about it and what it'll mean for Shinji in the future, knows it's a card he was obviously destined to have, like with her and Ancient Fairy, and at current she is trusting Shinji to be able to do the right thing with it.
Juudai, on the other hand, is suspicious of it's high level and divine attribute. He hopes that it isn't malicious in anyway because damn would that be a tough thing to beat.
- There are times where she can get ansty if Juudai hasn't dueled for a while, or nothing exciting is going on.
She knows Juudai is the type to help others, so she's not surprised that it's happening. It's something important to him, so she's fine with him focusing on it, and she does agree that it's something the city needs.
She does hope the merge completes soon though, as Juudai's been doing more paperwork than field work lately.

Since I also asked this about Yuzu: How does Yuya feel after realizing how much LDS restricts information about cards compared to other places?
no subject
- He feels a bit cheated actually. He always thought that information was restricted like that everywhere. He got to the island and when he discovered the academy taught fusion/synchro/xyz that it was like with LDS and only the top students got to learn it, so it was a huge surprise when he found the classes were for everyone on the island. He was even MORE surprised when he learned how easy it was to get access to the cards for those summoning techniques both on the island and in Domino City.
So he does wonder why it can't be like that in Maiami City too and feels it's unfair for LDS to keep access to that information to themselves.
no subject
Does Yuma talk to Hope often? If so, what about?
no subject
I like to think that before Yuya left for the Academy, he and Gongenzaka agreed that the next time Yuya was in Maiami City, they'd duel so Yuya could show him what he's learned while there.
And how much Yuya has grown AS A MAN.
He does keep in touch with both Gongenzaka and his mom occasionally through e-mail mostly. He's told them about the new friends he's made and how action dueling is doing at the Academy, all the positive stuff.
He doesn't want to worry them with the negative.
- I actually don't think Yuma even realizes Hope is a spirit yet and Hope's not had much of a reason to talk with Yuma, he's mostly been silently keeping an eye on him.
But that's something I hope to change later on/soon, especially now Yuma's getting his door dream and is getting involved with in plot stuff. I think it'd be interesting to start having them interacting and growing together as partners.
Actually, I think I got an idea on how to start their interaction!
no subject
How's Yuma feel about Yuzu and her friendship with Yuya?
How did Juudai and Tomoko feel when Isabel said she was going off on her trip? How do they feel now that she's been gone basically a year?
Does Juudai feel like he got gypped a little having to retire from pro dueling right when this awesome new form of dueling became relevant?
no subject
He thinks it's great that Yuya and Yuzu were able to attend the academy together and share their experiences there. It's something he wishes he could of shared with Kotori or Tetsuo, actually. Watching them interact with each other tends to remind him of himself and Kotori, who he shares a similar friendship with.
Likewise, if/when he goes back to visit Heartland City, he'd totally invite both Yuya and Yuzu along as he'd love to show them his home city.
- Juudai was sad to hear that she was going to be leaving on a trip for an undetermined amount of time, as he knew he'd miss her, but also understood it was something Isabel felt she needed to do. Now it's been about a year, he often wonders how she's doing, or what she's been up too.
Tomoko was the more visibly upset of the two and didn't want her to leave, wondering if she'd ever see her again, but I'm sure reassurance from Juudai and Isabel herself would of brought her around to the idea. After that, Tomoko would of wished her good luck and... I wouldn't be surprised if she did a drawing of her and Isabel with Juudai and the others that Isabel could take with her.
She occasionally asks Juudai if he's heard from Isabel, or if he thinks Isabel is okay.
- A little bit. He would of loved to of helped Yuya and Yuzu by spreading the word about action duels through pro contacts, as well as looking forward to the pro-league getting the action dueling mechanic, BUT one of his backers for the spirit foundation/arcadia movement merge is Leo Corporation and they've offered to install one of the solid vision systems for him, so Juudai will have access to it, at least!
no subject
- What does Juudai like doing with Asuka, or by his relative lonesome.
- What are Ruka's hobbies.
- What are Sayuri's hobbies.
- Is Yuya having trouble grasping Synchro/Fusion/Xyz?
no subject
She's always been like this and I guess she's the type that will find the beauty (or cuteness) in anything, she's also very easily fascinated with odd things.
- When with Asuka he likes to do very similar things as she does with him, such as dueling for fun, watching movies/TV with her, playing games or talking. He also likes going on walks with her or even having a picnic in nice weather.
On his own, he does still read hero based comics/manga now and then, if something catches his eye. I also like to think that since he liked drawing as a kid and he showed himself to be quite decent at drawing in the only episode of GX that showed an art class, that he does occasionally doodle things, usually when he's bored.
He also likes to go to the top of high buildings in Domino and just enjoy the view/watch the city.
- Her biggest hobby is reading. She loves reading. She reads mostly factual books, rather than fiction. She loves factual places too, so places like museums. Though if she wants to relax and do something else, she does sometimes play video games. Although she likes puzzle games the most (I bet she's really into things like Professor Layton) she's also happy to play other games with friends, she finds them fun even if it's a game she's not very good at (she fails at fighting games really badly).
- Her art is her biggest hobby and what she likes to mostly do in her spare time, but she also likes cooking and will happily make cookies and cakes for Tomoko and the rest of Sakana.
- He is having a bit of trouble picking it up, but it's a lot of new techniques to learn all at once, especially when he doesn't (currently) use them, so he lacks any first hand experience. At the moment I'm just waiting on the show to give me more stuff to work with and to expand a bit more on how fusion summoning just came to him.
no subject
- Does Juudai wear a dramatic billowing cape when watching the city go by?
- How many Layton games does Ruka own?
- Does Sayuri treat food as art?
- I expect "Wizardy stuff happened" for Yuya learning.
no subject
- He doesn't, but he's been tempted at times!
- I would say most of them!
- She does! She will make patterns and decorations out of icing or bake cookies in different shapes.
- I expect so too. I expect, for in the near future, that Yuya will gain his ability to fusion summon in a similar way to the show, probably during some kind of plot duel.

- Soon(.jpg) @ Yuya Duel
- Do you want Yuya (and maybe Yuma) to run into Nico Smiley at some point?
no subject
- :D
- That would be interesting and I'd be up for it! I support any use of Nico Smiley. He is awesome!
no subject
I'll think about it once stuff with everything clears up with. Well everything. Bunch of stuff in queue @ Yuya.Duel/Nico.
no subject
No problem! There is no rush :)
no subject
-So with Juudai retiring is it a 'from dueling and all of this spirit nonsense' and sitting back to mentor those coming now?
no subject
Before Juudai decided to propose to Asuka, he did actually ask Yubel on how she felt about the idea as he wanted to make sure she'd be okay with it. Had she not been, he actually wouldn't of asked her, or at least waited a bit more. But Yubel, in her time being a part of Juudai, has been able to observe human behaviour and customs and although most of it puzzles her, she understands that's how it is.
When they talked, both Yubel and Juudai agreed that their relationship and his and Asuka's relationship were two very different things. The way Yubel sees it, she and Juudai are connected at a very close spiritual level, being a part of each other and all and this bond will last their entire life, if not for next lives after that.
She sees Juudai's relationship with Asuka as something for Juudai to experience "normal human urges".
Yubel knows that her bond with Juudai will last hundreds of years, if not more, than any relationship he has with another human. She seems content with the idea that she will be with Juudai ~forever~ and Asuka will only get to be with him for a normal human life span.
Yubel feels like she's got the better deal.
As for Asuka, herself. Yubel is in-different with her (A stance she takes with most people who are not Juudai, really) she doesn't like her, but also doesn't hate her. Just very, very in-different. She rarely, if ever, interacts with her.
- He is only retiring from dueling professionally in the pro-league and it's in order to concentrate more on the spirit stuff and people with powers and other oddities. Dueling will still be a big part of his life and will be needed at times if his work leads him into a duel with someone, so he'll still practise a lot with that against people he knows so he doesn't become rusty.

What are Ruka's thoughts, if any, regarding Shinoko's family in general? It would probably seem odd at least for an effective orphan like herself to see her signer double have a family of multiple mothers, for starters.
Out of curiosity, what ordeal has frightened Juudai the most? What would he consider the worst plausible scenario that could happen in the future?
no subject
I'm unsure if her family has ever really come up, but if it had, Ruka would be happy for Shinoko that she has such a large family. Multiple mothers would be a little odd to her, but Ruka doesn't judge. Family is family, no matter who is in it.
Granted, seeing families does make her miss her own a lot.
The one that frightened Juudai the most? Hm, Out of all the storylines and events we've had, one of the ones that did hit him really hard was Hikari's, as at one point, she made a bunch of his friends just drop dead right in front of him and Juudai spent an entire day waiting at the top of Kaibacorp with Isabel and the bodies of his friends. He didn't know if dueling Hikari would even bring them back, there was a good chance it wouldn't of, so he felt quite scared and powerless at that point.
Of course, when his powers first manifested and he also learned about the supreme kings history, that was a pretty frightening time too. He spent a long time fretting over that.
And I guess being killed by Divine was also a really terrifying experience which resulted in Divine being the only person he 100% despises.
It's difficult to choose. He's been through a LOT of terrifying experiences.
As for the future... basically anything he's powerless to stop. Especially if it's something that makes his friends or family suffer.

Ironically, to me at least, Ruka has one of the few sources of information about timelines in a little cafe she's probably never been to. That is to say, Xi.
I think Erland would concur with Juudai in regards to Hikari. Besides for nameless, faceless NPCs, I think Hikari is one of the few people, and one of maybe a handful of girls, that Erland has ever truly wanted to kill.
...you know, I had another question, but then the phone rang and after a half hour of that I really just can't recall for the life of me. Maybe I'll think of it later.
*Edit: Remembered. You might have covered it in a thread somewhere that I never got around to reading, but what sort of abilities does Tomoko have these days?
no subject
She's empathic. She can pick up of the feelings of living creatures (people, animals, duel spirits ect.) and can get a general "feel" of what they are feeling, so she can tell if someone is feeling happy, sad, lonely ect. Though if someone is good at masking it, then she wouldn't pick it up. Lately she's also been accidentally taking on/absorbing the emotions of others around her, which is something she'll be learning to control once SAI (The Spirit Foundation/Arcadia Movement merge) is complete.
The empathic abilities are one part of the psychic duelist abilities and the other part is a healing ability. Since she has such a caring nature, her psychic power have come through as this rather than something destructive. She can mostly take away pain from an injury and can heal the actual injury itself to a very small extent (again something she will be able to do more of as her powers develop) BUT taking away pain from someone causes her to take on that pain in the same place and does cause her to also become quite tired.
