Huh? ... Why?

It's about what happened a while back, when that monster appeared in the park. I was wanting to talk to you about what happened then, either on here or at SAI.

No, no. I'm fine with talking. I'm actually... I was sorta expecting it after everything had happened, but then it didn't. I guess you had gotten busy, or probably didn't want to bother me on it while I was in the hospital, so it's fine.

... I don't mind coming by Saturday, to SAI, if that's okay?

Yeah, I decided to leave it for a bit, then I got busy with setting up SAI, so I'm kinda working through my list of things I wanted to do now things have settled down.

*sometime in the early evening on Saturday, Shinji finally arrives at SAI. He at least likely called ahead to say he's coming, now. He doesn't want to surprise anyone, right?*

*Juudai is waiting for Shinji in the lobby entrance of the building. He goes over to greet Shinji when he enters.*

Hey! I'm really glad you could come!

*he nods a little-- he really does look a little tired and distracted. but he's staying alert.*

*Juudai makes a mental note of how tired he looks, but figures it's just from the schoolwork. He decides to try and not keep him too long if he can help it.*

Right. Well, if you follow me, we can go to my office and we can chat a little.

*Juudai begins walking away, leading him down a corridor and to a door which he opens and enters, stepping aside to let Shinji in.*

*There is a desk to the left of the room, in front of a window, with seats on either side. Also to the back of the room is a sofa and a few filing cabinets.*

So, what specifically is it, that you want to know?

I wanted to ask you about what happened in the park some time back when that monster appeared in it. It seems you demonstrated some kind of ability there that I've been curious about.

I also wish to know about the card that was with you at the time. A level 12 divine attribute monster is... really something. It's not a common attribute and it puts in on par with things like the Egyptian God Cards. I'm curious why you have a card like that.

*he thinks a bit about Juudai's questioning.*

*Juudai shakes his head.*

No. She hasn't told me anything.

Well... *he takes a deep breath*

I am capable of... Bonding, with cards. Not only emotionally, but also ability-wise. But I can only really do it effectively with cards I've gained an attachment too. What I ended up doing in the park though was... completely by accident. I think the card itself reacted, because I would've been hurt badly, or worse, because of that.

As for the card itself... At some point, before I started attending Duel Academy, I felt, um. A weird power surge happen, with my abilities, I guess is the best way to describe it. But after it, the card just appeared.

That's a pretty amazing ability you have. So, when you bond with a card, you gain it's abilities?

And a power surge, huh? And then that card appeared? Hm. *He thinks.* Do you have any idea at all why the card came to you or what it means? It's very unique.

For how bonding works out... yes, basically. Say if I bonded with a FIRE-attribute spirit, I'll be able to temporarily gain an ability related to fire, that fits with them. Like fireballs.

I had used one to shoot down who was originally controlling that monster, while Ruka went to get help. A Laval Flame Sprite. But I could've potentially used them to give myself a heightened protection against fire, as well. It's very... "Infinite possibilities", if I can think of them, and they cooperate.

As for the card, my theory is that it... may be a part of me.

Y-yeah. ... I guess that must sound kinda weird, though. *especially since it's a Divine-attribute card...*

*Juudai pauses for a moment, thinking.*

Do you believe it's a part of you because it appeared when you had that surge in your powers? Or is there any other reason?

The first thing, mostly. But also... I had avoided really "bonding" with it, but it not only reacted on it's own and triggered my abilities, but I guess... I can admit that when it did, it felt... right? Scary, though. And overwhelming. But it felt natural on the other hand.

When we spoke to you, while you were bonded with this card, you spoke back in a language I didn't recognize. Do you have any knowledge or memory on the language you used?

Mmm... Kinda? It's sorta a weird language, I guess. Where I simultaneously understand it, but also don't.

I... have bonded once more, since then, with the card, since I can't really sit around being afraid of it forever. There's no gain in control or anything if I avoid it. I found out that if I focus enough, I can speak Japanese again. But I don't think I remember exactly what it is I said at the time.

I'm glad you're facing dealing with it. I agree that being afraid of it wouldn't solve anything.

Though... I'm really curious why a level 12 divine attribute monster was created from you. It basically has a god-like status.
