Got into a duel with one of the Ghosts that have been attacking D-Wheelers recently. It seems like card effects can't target Wisel Infinity itself anymore... or at least, I attempted to use Vacuumen and it failed to work. I managed to burn a good chunk of his life points away via Speed World 2 though, but before the duel could end, an attack from Wisel Infinity shorted out the shield Misaki had put onto my D-Wheel and it stalled the bike, ending the duel.

But even if there was no final outcome from the duel, while I was dueling Ghost, Hawkeye was able to hack into Ghost's D-Wheel and managed to pull a little something from it. Namely biography's for me and 10 other people. Thing is, mine apparently spans over half a century worth of information and some of the other biography's go into the 22nd century. Ghost has FUTURE information on me and others.
I haven't read my biography that Hawkeye pulled from Ghost's D-Wheel, I might never, ya know... spoilers I guess.

Considering that I have met and know people who have traveled through time and have experienced it for myself, it's not something I find unbelievable, far from it. So if these... Ghosts... really are from the future, then why are they here and attacking people like they are doing.

The shield shorted out?

[identity profile] i-like-red.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, when Wisel Infinity went to attack me directly. May need you to take a look at it.
roadofheaven: (I'm going to stab you with a toothpick.)

[personal profile] roadofheaven 2011-07-15 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
... The shield uses the Solid Vision system, but requires extra power to definitely hold, so it's wired directly into your Momentum power converter. If holding off an attack required more power than Momentum could generate, it would try to pull power from other systems in the bike, leading to a shutdown in order to save you.

It didn't work as well as it should have, I guess. Bring it by and I'll fix it for free.

Thanks! I'll bring it by later.

[identity profile] 3-s33s-what.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
... th' future. Seriously?

[identity profile] i-like-red.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
It's looking that way. It's the only way they could of gotten that kind of information and their technology seems much more advanced.

[identity profile] 3-s33s-what.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
... I guess it'd be hard t' believe that th' information might be fake, huh.

[identity profile] i-like-red.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Pretty much, yeah.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps a doomed timeline.

Though, what their goals are, you have to wonder. It'd be easy enough to blend in, so they don't want to simply live, it seems.

[identity profile] i-like-red.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, if they are from a doomed timeline, they could possibly be trying to change things in this timeline to save their own... but why that would involve attacking so many people, I have no idea.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Scenarios where a doomed timeline can salvage itself are exceedingly rare, and usually require very subtle manipulations. Their actions thus far are too public, and thus will only create a new, splintered timeline.

[identity profile] i-like-red.livejournal.com 2011-07-16 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
I see...
Hmm, it really is difficult to figure out exactly what their goal might be...

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2011-07-16 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
It could be that their goal is exactly as you stated, and they're simply unaware of how paradox mechanics work.

On the other hand, they could be attempting to prevent whatever happened in their timeline from occurring in other timelines...

...or they could simply consider whatever they are doing as 'consequence free'.

[identity profile] i-like-red.livejournal.com 2011-07-16 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Whatever they're trying to do, it really can't be good if they think attacking people is the way to go about reaching whatever goal they have.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2011-07-16 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
People stuck on their ideology tend to assume any means justifies the end.

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2011-07-16 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
An alternative method would be you know, collapsing the alternative other worlds. But that'd be insane.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2011-07-16 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed, there's a number of risks with that method... cascade effect in particular coming to mind.

Considering they're working on a local level, however, that seems unlikely.

...

Though... it could be that the duels/attacks are not the means unto themselves, but only part of a larger objective. Duel energy collection, creation of a metaphysical 'circuit'... possibly manipulation of momentum...

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2011-07-16 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Manipulating Momentum strikes me as dangerous from what I've seen. Fuck it up, and whoops, half of Japan turns into an underwater ruin. So I sincerely doubt it.
monomyth: (Update // Serious business)

[personal profile] monomyth 2011-07-15 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
... So they've fixed their cards' weakness? Should have known it would be too easy.

[identity profile] i-like-red.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. The fact that they seem to be able to adapt very quickly to whatever gives them a problem is kind of worrying.
monomyth: (Update // You're retarded.)

[personal profile] monomyth 2011-07-15 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
What have they adapted to already? Synchros, Fusions, Rituals, and now targeting effects...

[identity profile] i-like-red.livejournal.com 2011-07-16 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't have too much of a problem getting Great Tornado out in the duel, but I might not be so lucky next time.

Hmm... the burn damage seemed to work well, and I probably would of won if I hadn't been stalling for time so Hawkeye could get into their D-Wheel's system. Really don't know if they have anything to stop tributes and Exceed summons though...
monomyth: (Update // Serious business)

[personal profile] monomyth 2011-07-16 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Exceeds might work if we want them to laugh themselves to death.

Tributes, though... Didn't high-level decks fall out of style after Battle City? If they're time travelers, maybe that's our best shot.

[identity profile] i-like-red.livejournal.com 2011-07-16 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Well it's worth giving high-level decks a try, at least.
monomyth: (Update // You're retarded.)

[personal profile] monomyth 2011-07-16 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Do we know anyone who uses any?
