Event Post 57 - Juudai and Suguru's Intervention

*It had been days since anyone had last seen Ruka, too many days, in fact. Juudai had given her a while to calm down and see if she would start coming round on her own, but he had been around to the apartment she was holding herself up in every single day attempting to try and get her to talk to him or let him in, but each time she never gave a reply.*

Come on, Ruka! Ruka!

*Today was no different. No matter how much he knocked, or how much he shouted to her, he got no response.
He stopped knocking and stepped back from the door. Enough was enough, he needed to get in to make sure she was alright. But how? Sure he could have Neos punch the door in, but he didn't really want to scare her anymore than she already is. Maybe there was a better way in?

Suguru! Feel free to wander across Juudai as he's contemplating his options!*

*well anyone could hear him banging on the door, so Suguru does come across him, frowning*

... she's still not replying, huh?

Not at all. I'm about ready to break in there somehow to try and force her a bit to talk to us all.

Not really sure how to go about getting in though. I could have Neos break down the door, but that might be a bit TOO forceful.

*He looks over at Suguru.*

You wouldn't know how to pick locks, would you?

*shakes her head*

I've never exactly had need for a skill like that, no... Wouldn't uh... Cain, the guy who owns this place, have spare keys though?

I mean, at this point, it is kinda... We don't even know what kinda state she's in now, after this long.

Hm, when I mentioned to him that I might have to have Neos break the door down, he didn't mention he had any spare keys...

*rubs her head*

He should probably consider that, you never know what's gonna happen when people are left alone like this...

If we can't get it open, and breaking down the door would be too much... Nnmmmg... *she glances at the door*

... Has she made any kind of response? Any sounds at all?

Hm, I occasionally hear movement inside, I think, but it's not often. Other than that, she's not made a sound.

But she hasn't responded at all, huh?

*stands there, thinking*

... Gotta at least do something, though. It's not healthy.

*Juudai nods*

If we can't find any other way to get in at all, I may just have to have something damage the door just enough to open it...

Well, maybe you could force the doorknob to break instead, since that's what's keeping it locked.

Yeah, it's worth a try...!

*With that, he activates his duel disk and slaps down Neos card, making the monster appear in front of them.*

Neos. I need you to break the doorknob on this door.

*Neos nods and gets hold of the doorknob and with a swift movement, he manages to pull the entire doorknob off... the lock and bits of the door going with it.*

Well... guess it's not locked anymore!

*Juudai opens the door slightly, looks in, then signals for Suguru to follow him quietly as Neos disappears.*

*she nods, closing her mouth as she follows then, resisting commenting on what just happened*

*Juudai wanders slowly and silently up the hallway of the apartment, listening out for any sound. He hears a brief shuffle coming from Ruka's room, so he moves over to the door.*

Ruka..? Ruka, it's Juudai and Suguru. We haven't seen you in a while, so we wanted to see if you're okay.

*The door to the room is slightly ajar, so Juudai gently pushes it to open.*

Are we okay to come in?

*As the door opens, Ruka can be seen standing inside. She looks very dishevelled and very wary of then. The curtains are drawn in the room, making it dark inside. Over on the desk, it is littered with numerous books with notes scribbled inside. Her computer is also switched on, showing a news report of the strange "dragon-like" thing in the sky from when her brother and friends disappeared.

As Juudai steps into the room, Ruka steps back.*

Why did you break in!? I just want to be left alone!

*does look a bit guilty for that, but she shakes her head*

Being left alone is fine, but you've been in here for over a week now with no real sign of whether you're alright or not. Anyone'd get really worried-- you don't even look like you've been taking care of yourself.

*she's talking about your disheveled appearance and the fact that you look like you've taken a dive off the deep end of shut-in-ism*

She's right, Ruka. I know you're upset about what happened, we all are, but you can't let it get to you like this.
Hiding away from people in this kind of state is the worst thing you can possibly do.

Trust me on this, Ruka.

*Ruka just backs up again and shakes her head slowly.*

Don't pretend you all care! You'll all just leave me! Just like Ancient Fairy and the other spirits did!

*Tears begin to fall from Ruka's distant-looking eyes as she continues.*

I just want to be left alone so I can find Rua.

[remarkablerain]

I'm not pretending-- I wouldn't be here if I didn't feel anything about this... *... something seems off there though, she's not really knowledgeable on her spirits but... something sounds like things went worse than just her brother and everyone vanishing*

... "Like Ancient Fairy and the other spirits did"...? *she looks to Juudai, hoping he knows who exactly she's talking about*

*Juudai exchanges looks with Suguru, before looking back at Ruka.*

Ruka. Ancient Fairy Dragon and your other spirits wouldn't just leave you. You know that.

*He had to wonder where they were though. Did the Crimson Dragon take them too somehow? Then why would she think they left her, but wouldn't think the same of Yuusei and the others.*

*Ruka shakes her head again*

They didn't like that I don't trust the Crimson Dragon anymore, that I wouldn't just follow everything it does blindly like they do!!
They left because I didn't agree with them!!

*Ruka appeared to be getting more agitated and panicked as she spoke, until she begins pacing a little and seemingly rambling more to herself, than to Juudai and Suguru.*

I'm going to find Rua. I'm going to find Rua and everything will be okay. She's going to help me find him, everything's fine.

*"She?"*

*something seems REALLY off about all of that-- at the least, she wouldn't think a bunch of spirits would just... leave, because of that... especially if they're her spirit partners.

And Ruka's reaction is... not healthy at all.*

... "She"? "She" who?

*Juudai watches as Ruka continues pacing about, ignoring Suguru's question.*

Something really isn't right here...

*With that, Juudai steps forward and goes to gently grab one of Ruka's hands.*

Ruka, come on, let's go outside or something, maybe it'll clear your head a bit.

[voicesofspirits]

*As soon as Juudai's hand touches hers, Ruka screams and jumps back, making Juudai jump in response.*

Get away! Get away! GET AWAY!

*Ruka then grabs her duel disk that was on her bed and jolts for the door, pushing both Juudai and Suguru away in order to get through, before running out of the door to the apartment.*

[remarkablerain]

Wha-- hey! *she's pushed away as Ruka runs out, staring after her from the surprise of it*

... ... w-we should go after her, shouldn't we.

We should. Who knows what'll happen when she's in this state.

*With that, Juudai bolts out of the apartment after her.*

*follows after him, wondering just where she would've even run off too*
