This time of the year is always kind of nostalgic, seeing some of the new students posting who are starting at the academy for the first time, especially when I see students posting that they're in Osiris Red. Reminds me of when I first started there.

Which was 11 years ago.

I know! I was surprised when I worked it out! Seems weird that it's been that long since we were there.

I guess I've sorta lost track of time, since then. I didn't think it'd had already been over a decade.

... maybe? Almost like adding the soul's lifeforce to their own, I guess. Which for a cat, would be a pretty large boost no matter what.

Just make sure he doesn't end up eating more souls while you're not looking.

... That sure is a long time to hang around in one area. I don't think I'd be able to stand being around here for eleven years.

Haha! Well, I like the city. It's important to me and I have an important role here with the Spirit Foundation.
Besides, it's not like I'm in much of a rush to do everything I want straight away. I probably have thousands of years to kill, so probably best to pace myself.

I guess that's a way to look at it. When you have all the time in the world, no one's in a rush to do much.

Do you think you'd wanna leave the area eventually, though?

Eventually, yeah. I wouldn't want to spend thousands of years or whatever in the same place.
Right now I have ties to the city and a wife I've settled down with so, it's nice to just kinda have that whole domestic thing at the moment.

After that... well, I'll probably need the distraction for a bit anyway, but I think I'd like to go travelling around the world. Meet other duelists and spirits. Maybe even travel the Duel Spirit dimensions if I can manage that.

I'd say to be careful if you start wandering to other dimensions, but I think you'd end up being pretty fine regardless.

You should go to Italy one day. It's a nice country. Still my favorite out of all of the places I visited.

There are loads of places I'd like to visit while I'm with Asuka. It's just getting the free time for holidays.

Maybe Italy would be a nice place to go with her the next chance we get for a break.

Hey, I'd recommend it. I got to go there recently over Christmas holidays, and other than... One problem, it was pretty nice. Some cities in Italy have a market that goes on during the holiday, and it's impressive to see.

Well... Christmas actually isn't all that far away, so maybe we'll get the chance then. Either that or New Years.

It's really not that bad! I always thought Osiris Red had a really great atmosphere! It's why I stayed in it for the entire time I was there.

I guess you saw our matches in the WRGP!

Yeah....most outside dueling tournaments don't get broadcasted in Miami City, but the WRGP was so huge, it was kind of an exception.

You made it all the way to the finals! And you were in Osiris Red for your whole time here?

Huh. I'm surprised they're so strict on airing dueling tournaments from outside your city.

There's more to the dorms than just the ranks. Really, just stay in the one you feel most comfortable in. I had the chance to move up to Ra Yellow in my first year but turned it down because I was fine with Osiris Red and I felt I didn't need to prove my skill by what dorm I was in. I was happy with Osiris Red, I loved the atmosphere there and I thought the food was awesome!

But if moving up the ranks is what you feel is best for yourself, go for it! But try to have a good time in the dorms, no matter which dorm it is.

We just don't get a lot of stuff from outside the city. We kind of have our own dueling culture...everybody is mostly just into Action Duels.

Well...it makes sense when you put it like that, I guess. But what about all the stuff I've been hearing about creaky floors and leaky roofs and bad doors?!

Oh, Action Duels! I remember reading a small article on them not to long ago, it sounds a really exciting way to duel.

Though the girls dorm might not be so bad. That building isn't as old!

It is! It's the best way to duel there is, you should come see us when Yuya and I show one to the rest of Duel Academy!

I'll be honest, they kinda don't! I think it's because they don't expect many students to be in that dorm for long, as most move up.
Also the boys dorm were without a proper head for ages. For about three out of the four years I spent there, a cat was the dorm head.

As for the head of the girls dorm... I wouldn't know sadly. I haven't been to the island in a long time, but maybe something to ask when you get there!
I can only hope you have a proper dorm head and not like, a mouse or something.

It really is. I hadn't realized that much time had passed.

I just realized a short time ago it's been a touch over 7 years since I came to the island. Normally that kind of time is the blink of an eye, but...it somehow feels like enough for a lifetime.

It feels like this time has gone by kinda fast. It's kinda weird to think back on things and then think where we all are today.

At times.

I can remember a few times when it was all occurring that I felt as though time might have slowed down just so it could fit as much misfortune into each of ours days as possible.

I know that feeling all too well. Maybe it feels like time has moved fast overall, but during times like those, the time couldn't of moved any slower.

But... I guess in the end those experiences shaped us into who we are today.
